What is an Infrared Sauna?

An infrared sauna, also known as infrared therapy or Waon therapy, is a relatively new take on the traditional sauna. The method has some important advantages over the traditional sauna. An infrared sauna is typically an enclosed space fitted with infrared lighting. A technology that emits light waves at a frequency that the body experiences as warmth.

What are the health benefits of Infrared Sauna?

An infrared sauna is intended to be a relaxing experience that allows you the chance to enjoy many of the same benefits of a traditional sauna in a new way. Relaxation, relief from sore muscles and improved circulation are all benefits that you can expect. Proponents of infrared therapy will also tell you that regular sessions in the infrared sauna improves the quality of their sleep. Infrared therapy has also been shown to regulate healthy blood pressure, support weight management and aid in overall detoxification.

Which Sauna is better — Infrared, or Steam?

Unlike a traditional sauna that heats moisture in the air around you, an infrared sauna uses infrared lamps that emit light at a frequency that the body experiences as warmth. Advocates and regular visitors will tell you that the warmth of an infrared sauna penetrates more deeply and makes for a more comfortable experience than a traditional sauna.
